Animals Adopted in 2012

These photos tell the stories of the many wonderful dogs and cats that have been rescued through PetConnect and are Home At Last. We invite you to see what can really happen when people come together to save animals in need. We extend our profuse thanks to all the wonderful people who have adopted these animals and given them loving homes. We hope that they are bringing as much joy to your lives as you have brought to theirs.

Anna

Anna has found her forever home as part of a loving family with two boys and a dog. Her new mom tells us, "What a sweetheart she is - and so playful! My younger son put her on his bed when he went to sleep these last two nights, and she stayed all night, just purring and sleeping. I think she's found her sleeping spot. I'm amazed that she'll do this because she seems to have bonded with my older son (who connects to every animal he ever meets). Anna follows him around waiting for him to sit down. As soon as he does, she crawls up onto his upper chest and neck and sits there." Sounds like a happy family!

Treat

Treat's new mom wrote to say, "Hi! We thought you might enjoy seeing Gracie (formerly Treat) all dressed up in her Christmas finery. We adopted Gracie through PetConnect on November 4, 2012. She has brought joy to our lives every day. She is the most precious little puppy. Our friends and family say she is spoiled rotten, but we think she is perfect. She is so smart, loving, playful, and easy-going--how could we resist spoiling her?"

Karma and Mojo

These lovely kitties were in our foster care for a long time. The more time that went by, the pickier their foster mom became. She knew these lovely cats deserved only the best forever home. And now they have it! Karma and Mojo will be staying with their foster mom. Way to go, sweeties!

Sable and Oreo

A PetConnect volunteer was contacted about these two little ones when they were found in a townhome complex at 13 days old. With their mom nowhere to be found, they were placed in a foster home with a vet tech and received around the clock care. Now in a loving home of their own, and renamed Boule and Bill, these two precious little ones are being lavished with love by their new family. What a lucky pair!

Joe

Joe's new mom wrote to say, "Hello, We wanted to update you on how Joe is doing. We renamed him Jack. Jack settled in quickly to our household and enjoys playing with our three children (4, 8 and 10). He loves to cuddle and enjoys playing fetch. He can always be found carrying something around; his favorite toys are the stuffed monkey he brought from his foster home and a stuffed pumpkin. Jack has made friends with many dogs and especially loves to play with Domino (our next door neighhor) and Abby (his cousin). He really enjoys getting outside whether taking a walk, running after the kids, or sunning himself in our newly fenced yard. Jack is our constant companion and loves to tag along to soccer games and for the kids' many drop-offs and pickups. He's a real joy and we are so happy that he is part of our family!"

Minnie

Minnie is now home-at-last with another kitty friend named Midnight. Her new mom reports, "Minnie is extremely affectionate and outgoing. She is a love. She adores the love seat and spends time in the sun in the afternoon, curled up. She is very smart. I have a glass patio door and feed the squirrels and birds just outside the door for the cats to watch. Midnight learned from Rose- a feral Siamese- how to stalk. He doesn't do it well but he tries. Minnie however saw the squirrels and went bounding up and just about waved her hand to say HI. Now- she stays back a little distance and tries to hunker down a bit before she gets tired and decides to run up to the door. Maybe she likes to see them run!"

Pumpkin

Sweet little Pumpkin found her loving, forever home! We're so happy for her and her new family.

Max

Max had a rough start in life, but is now doing great in his loving forever home!

Fifi and Fletch

Fifi (now Finnie) and her baby Fletch were lucky enough to be adopted together! This young beauty found herself at a high-kill shelter with her babies before being brought into the safety of a PetConnect foster home. Momma cats are so often forgotten in favor of their kittens, but Finnie (just a kitten herself) is now home-at-last with son, Fletch. They look very happy to be home -- now that's a happy ending!

Boo

"Ruger is awesome! He's the cutest thing with soooo much personality!" says Rugers new mom."He's a total love bug, super cuddly and snuggles all night with me." From running as a stray through the streets of Baltimore, to sharing a home in Warrenton, VA with a new mom and dad, two canine siblings and three feline siblings, Boo (now Ruger) has hit the jackpot. His parents are amazing at how fast he learns new things and how gentle he is with the two kittens. They swear he understands every word they say. PetConnect is so happy that this wonderful dog has a home and family that loves him as much as we do.

Bruce and Coral

Sweet Coral (now Layla) and her kitten, Bruce (now Brody), have found their forever home together. Their new family writes, "They tear through the house together all the time. We see him carrying things off, but we haven't found his stockpile yet. . . He is quite the character, he likes to sleep in the middle of my husband and myself, under the covers and we have Layla at the foot of the bed." Sounds like they are right at home!

Duff

Happy Duff is enjoying the holidays with new mom Andrea in Silver Spring. He is being spoiled rotten, and even has a leopard print bed! He is the darling of the block and the dog walker keeps threatening to steal him away. Mom has brought him to training classes and his manners are almost perfect. New mom's extended family loves Duff..and he seems to love them too...we know 'cause he can't stop smiling!

Doodle Bug and Scribble

Brothers Doodle Bug and Scribble came all the way from Tennessee to find their forever home, and they are so happy to be together! Adopted by a wonderful family from Georgetown, the boys are doing great. Congratulations!

Rusty

Rusty's new parents had a Border Collie before their kids were born, and Rusty reminded them of that breed: intelligent and always thinking! Rusty is the first dog for the kids, and they fell in love with him, as you can see!

Rusty

Rusty’s foster parents found him a wonderful new home when they introduced Rusty to two friends of theirs. The couple fell in love with Rusty immediately and he is now enjoying his new home in Washington, DC. Sweet Rusty is so happy to be Home at Last.

Twix

Twix is now Home at Last in Fairfax, VA. Her new family consists of four kids, three other dogs, a cat, and fish. She's a happy girl, as you can see from her photo!

Dina

One of seven kittens in a rescued litter, Dina received a wonderful holiday gift. She is staying with her awesome foster parents along with her siblings, Lucy and Roy. She was definitely the neediest kitten - always wanting to be held and cuddled - and her adoptive mom and dad just couldn't resist holding onto her. Dina really enjoyed the 12/12/12 Concert and she especially appreciated the old rockers, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and The Stones!

Fran

Little Fran, now "Phoebe," is home at last with another kitten named Bella. Her new mom reports, "They are completely smitten and best friends with one another!" Congratulations to you all!

Scout

Life for Scout started out pretty rough: left on the steps of a high-kill shelter after having been hit by a car, Scout's days were numbered. It all turned around for this lucky girl. She may have lost a leg due to her injury, but it doesn't slow her down. Now Scout is living the good life in a home with two disabled dogs, and they ALL realize how wonderful life is. Congratulations, Scout, you deserve the best!

These two lucky brothers were adopted together by a lovely Potomac family. Welcome home, guys!

Their adopters tell us, "Just wanted to send a thank you for the 2 wonderful additions to our household! m,,,jmn (Pebbles just added the last bit by walking across my keyboard!) We are all in love with our playful kitties, Pebbles and Roxy!" Welcome home, girls!

Griff

At long last, Griff has found his forever home in Washington, DC with an animal loving couple. Griff's diplomatic skills are evident because he lives near Embassy Row. We can't understand why it took so long for Griff to be noticed and adopted, but he must have known his perfect "parents" were out there. Upon arrival, Griff immediately made himself comfortable in his new home - as if he always belonged there. And he was not at all bothered by his new dog "housemate", either. His new mom tells us: "The Griffter is settling in. He slept with me three times last night. He's sooo beautiful. Thank you for helping us find the perrrrrfect cat."

Sabrina

This lovely lady now lives with a loving family. She is their first cat and a great ambassador for all felines. Sabrina was an attentive mother to her kittens. Her babies were adopted and she stayed in her foster home while other foster kitties came in and were adopted out. All the while, she knew her perfect family would find her. And they did!

Dorito

In addition to a terrific new home in Bethesda, lucky Dorito also has a new pal named Buddy. This cat friendly beagle pup loves to sniff Dorito from head to tail tip, but as you can see they also enjoy quiet moments together. A loving forever home for the holidays is the best gift Dorito could have asked for!

Cheeto and Frito

The “snack kittens” Cheeto and Frito have found a loving forever home in Towson, MD. These two lucky boys are already enjoying the cat trees and toys galore in their new home. As you can see from the photo they are also very happy to be together!

Harper

Adorable little Harper has found a wonderful new home in Clarksburg, MD. In addition to two loving parents she has a young kitty named Drew to play and wrestle with – what more could a kitten ask for? Welcome home, Harper.

Jordan

Jordan’s new mom met her at an Adoption Event. Jordan was more than a little shy, but her new mom fell in love and now writes: “Jordan and I are getting on famously! She is happy, affectionate, energetic and smart! Thanks for all your work, and thanks for introducing Jordan and me.” Enjoy your new home, Jordan!

Axel

This little guy had a rough start when his family moved and left him! But today he is part of a big family in Aberdeen, MD...new parents, sisters, brothers, kids and other dogs to play with. A big yard to run around in and a big house to explore. Axel's parents said he has already claimed his place in the bed between them, and they are thrilled with how smart he is: "He knows his name, sit, stay and no. We love this little guy!"

Clooney

This loving teddy bear struck it rich! When Clooney's mom spotted this gem of a cat with his luscious brown fur and his dazzling orange eyes, she could not help herself. It was truly love at first sight! Now, Clooney enjoys his days in a large townhouse with his new sister, Squeaker, and his mom who tells us, "Clooney is just adorable and very affectionate. He wakes me up at 4am to cuddle which I love. Then Squeaker cuddles with me around 7am."

Noah

This playful bundle of affection has been adopted into a family where he will be the center of attention. His dream has finally come true. He now has the luxury of a dad who is always home, a mom who loves him, and an extended family who gets to visit frequently. Both he and his new family are absolutely smitten.

Mr. Darcy

This handsome kitty went into foster care where his foster mom decided she needed to be his permanent mom. As she put it, she "succombed to the charms of Mr. Darcy" and simply "could not resist him!" Mr. Darcy will be living out the rest of his days in a house full of love.

Aggie

Little Miss Aggie now lives in Rockville and she is loving her new life. Aggie received a second chance and she charmed her way into her adopter's heart and home.

Roy and Lucy

Roy (on left) and Lucy (on right) are living in Silver Spring with their foster parents who decided to adopt them. This brother and sister love each other and their adoptive parents very much! And the feeling is mutual. Roy and Lucy are very pleased to be Home at Last.

Twitch

There is a loving home for every adoptable animal and Twitch has found his forever family. At 10 years young, Twitch came into our foster care system. And now, he is living with someone who only wanted a senior cat. We are very happy for them!

Byrdie

Byrdie was living underneath Byrd Stadium at the University of Maryland when she was rescued by a PetConnect Rescue volunteer. She is now in her forever home with a family who has another cat - also found at a college. They knew it was meant to be!

Lulu

"Say hello to LUCAS BROWN! We call her Lulu. Cutest Basset, Weiner, Sharpei, etc MUTT on the entire planet!” says Lulu’s new Mom. This little girl, 13 weeks old, was found on the side of a roadway brought to a shelter and then to PetConnect. Lucky Lu then made her way into the heart of her mom and dad and is living the pampered spoiled life in Frederick, Maryland. Her new mom worked in dog rescue for many years and knew the moment she saw Lulu's picture that they were meant to be. Lulu is destined to have a wonderful life with her new mom to lean on. We couldn’t be any happier!

Monkey

Lovingly named by his foster mom, Monkey now permanently lives in her home. We are very happy because we know he receives fantastic care and he is very loved!

Casey

This sweet boy was returned by his initial adopters when someone in the family had trouble with allergies. But Casey waited patiently and found the purr-fect new family in Potomac. He’s enjoying being spoiled by the children in their home and is doing his best to convince the family dog to be his pal. Welcome home Casey!

Missy

Sweet Missy found herself a new home in Baltimore. Now known as Sundae, she is loving her forever home and her adoptive parents are loving her. Knowing how often adult cats are overlooked, this fantastic couple wanted to find a grown-up cat to add to their family. Sundae is happily Home at Last.

Carson

Adorable Carson found his forever home in Rockville, MD. He was rescued from a rural southern shelter and he is very happy to be with his forever family.

Nemo

Nemo immediately won over his adopter, and now has done the same with her roommates. He has a new kitty friend named Twilight and, apparently, plenty of people to climb on!

Zelda

Found on the side of a road, Zelda and her siblings were rescued by a PetConnect volunteer who took them in and fostered them. Zelda is the first of the "Z kittens" to be adopted! A family met her at an adoption event and she enchanted all of them. Zelda now lives in Silver Spring. Way to go!

Marlin

Marlin's new family spotted him at an adoption event and knew he was the kitty for them! After much planning and deliberation they were ready for a new addition. As Marlin fell asleep in his new girl's arms, everyone saw that it was meant to be. Congratulations!

Tucker

Tucker (renamed Tiger) has a forever home! PetConnect initially rescued this little guy when he was just 6 weeks old from a local high-kill shelter with 3 of his friends. After spending a few months in foster care, a new resident to the Rockville area was looking for a kitty companion to keep him company when he spotted his picture online. These two guys are now best buds, totally enjoying their new life together.

Bailey and Bess

Bess and Bailey waited patiently for the right family to come along to adopt both of these sweet sisters. Now they are part of a loving family in Bethesda, with 3 children to spoil and love them. Welcome home Bess and Bailey!

Macy Grey

Macy was very quiet and mellow when she first arrived in her foster home but each week she came out of her shell a little more. Now just over two months later she is now adopted by her foster family because they could not let her go. "She is our VERY playful baby girl," says her new mom. "She's learning her manners, enjoying life in College Park, loving every dog she sees on her daily walks and is loved every day by her new family. She got me somehow, never saw adopting her coming, but now know it was meant to be. Thank you PetConnect Rescue."

Carter

Named for the county from which he came (Carteret, NC), this gorgeous boy was saved from euthanasia when PetConnect rescued him. Carter arrived at his foster home very scared and not at all used to being with people. Socializing Carter took a long while, but thanks to the time and patience given to him by his foster parents, Carter eventually became part of the family. One of their cats, Daisy, "mothered" Carter and showed him how to open kitchen cabinets among other good "tricks" - including staying just out of reach of the baby. Carter loves his foster family and they love him! When they decided to move out of state, they decided to adopt Carter and we are SO happy he will be staying with them! Thank you, Ken and Linda, for all the care you have given all of your foster kitties.

Quincy

Quincy, now Griffin (on left in photo), now lives in Rockville. His new dad writes, "We adopted Quincy (now named Griffin) a few weeks ago and thought it would be nice to send an update with some pictures. Griffin and Buster have become fast friends! They love to chase each other around in the backyard, Buster is so happy to have a friend to roam around and play with. Griffin is picking up on commands quickly and already knows his new name. He has even gotten better at eating slowly and not finishing his water bowl. We couldn't be happier with the new addition to our family."

Zia

Zia, the "tomboy", is safe and sound in Woodbridge, VA and her new parents couldn't be happier. They report, "Zia is doing GREAT in her new home! We've renamed her Olivia, and like calling her Livi for short :-) We are absolutely in love with her and she seems to love us back. She is very playful but also very cuddly and affectionate. She loves running all over the apartment kicking her toys and climbing on the furniture and then enjoys napping in our laps. She's eating well and using her new litter box too. She sleeps with us in bed at night--so cute!"

Annabeth

Lovely Annabeth (now Kaylee) is Home at Last in Reston, VA. She is extremely happy to hang out and onto(!) her new mom. Kaylee will soon meet her feline big brother and we're sure she'll be thrilled to have a buddy.

Joey

Little Joey was found by a kind-hearted woman lost and alone. She reached out to PetConnect for help and agreed to foster Joey. While caring for him, she fell in love (and so did he) so he’s found his forever home with her in Rockville. Welcome home Joey!

Maggie

Maggie (on left in photo) is a beautiful young girl who was born with the challenge of blindness. She is doing well with her new family and gets along nicely with her housemate, Charity. Maggie has touched everyone’s hearts. She adores the groomers. They bring their dogs, and everyone gets to play together. Maggie loves the car and goes on lots of adventures with her family, which include many different parks where they can walk.  She also enjoys hamburgers with cheese from McDonalds.

Lottie

Lottie (now Peggy) has found her forever home in North Bethesda. As you can see, she’s settled in quite comfortably to her new surroundings. We couldn’t be happier that Peggy and her new mom found each other!

Oscar

Oscar never considered the fact that he had three legs. Whatever happened to him as a tiny kitten didn't matter to him! People might ask what went wrong, but all Oscar was interested in was getting attention and giving affection. He won the hearts of his new family at an adoption event where he charmed his way into their lives. Now he's found his forever home but still doesn't see having one less leg as a problem. Congratulations to Oscar and his family!

Carrie

Little Carrie's family fell in love with her website photo and description. They knew she was the right kitty for them before they met her. Carrie settled right into her new home and they tell us, "She is such a treasured member of our family already. She's also a continuous purring machine!" Carrie is pictured here with "2/3 of her fan club" and she is SO happy to have so many people who adore her because she has a ton of love to give. What a lucky girl.

Teddy

Sweet, shy Teddy (now called Rumi) is lucky as can be! He went from life in a shelter with only a few days left, to total happiness after being adopted by the perfect person for him. Thankfully PetConnect was able to rescue this beautiful cat from certain death in a rural shelter, and now he is living the life he previously only dreamed of.

Jane

Lucky Jane was adopted by a family that adopted another PetConnect Rescue kitty in 2010 (originally Matilda now Sadie). Jane has been renamed Lily, and as you can see from the photo already feels very much at home! Her new mom tells us that Lily has taken charge (and won their hearts). Hurray for Lily!

Maggie May

Maggie was a stray wondering the roads of Tennessee. Now she wanders through a loving home with five human family members and one canine pal. She is a lucky girl.

Denali and Yukon

This gorgeous pair of kittens won many hearts while in the care of PetConnect Rescue. Their new guardians planned very carefully before adding to their family. “We searched on various adoption, rescue, and Humane Society sites, off and on, and found many, many, beautiful and adorable cats but decided to remain patient. So when the time felt right for us we started to very actively search for our lifetime pet-companions…and boy did we hit the jackpot with these beauties!! We think we made a very good choice for our family!” Renamed Cleo and Caesar, we think they hit the jackpot too – welcome home!

Simballina

Simballina's new mom tells us, "Simballina is doing great. I have renamed her, now she is Bella. Playful and is getting along with her new playmate, Sophie. They have so much fun chasing each other and playing with their toys. So fun to watch." Sounds like a good match!

Caroline and Minnie

While they were not littermates, Caroline and Minnie have found a wonderful home together with a loving family and big sister kitty, Evie, also a PetConnect cat. Their family calls them "perfect" and we couldn't be happier for them all!

Flower

Little Flower was found in a field, alone and sick. A kind vet tech saved her and she found her way to a PetConnect foster home. The family couldn't let her go and will love her forever!

Clover

Clover, now named Mendel (after the scientist), has found his forever home with a kitty buddy named Isaac. His new dad tells us, "They groom and chase each other all around my apartment (sometimes at 3 am...). Anyway, thanks for helping me get my second buddy!"

Ruby

Ruby is a very lucky kitty, indeed. Her sweetness won her adoptive family over almost immediately! So, beautiful Ruby now happily resides in Haymarket, VA with a large and lively family who keeps her entertained - or is it the other way around?

Sammy

Adorable Sammy caught the eye of a previous PetConnect Rescue adopter and has now joined their family in Potomac. Sammy has a fondness for dogs and lucky for Sammy his new family has one – they became friends instantly. Welcome home Sammy!

Celeste

Lucky little Celeste was adopted only a few days after having been rescued from the shelter. Her new family fell in love with her immediately and she now has two children (and their mom) to call her very own. We know she’ll be very happy in Columbia MD.

Horton and Lorax

Brothers Horton and Lorax were returned by their first adopters due to a food intolerance. PetConnect worked with one of our participating vets to find a suitable food for these two cuties and placed them back in foster care. Their foster family fell in love with both of them almost instantly! You can guess the rest – the family decided to adopt both brothers and they are now happy and healthy in their new home.

Fiona

Lovely Fiona watched her three brothers find forever homes and she patiently waited for just the right person to adopt her. She did not have to wait too long. Fiona now lives in Bethesda with a wonderful kitty mom. Both Fiona and her human are very happy with this arrangement!

Jelly Bean

Sweet Jelly Bean was rescued from a local shelter and fostered by a D.C. man who could not give her up. Called "Fat Girl" by her foster-turned-adopter "dad", she does not care what she is called. She is so loving and quite talkative - so much so that she told us she is so happy to be Home at Last!

Billy

Billy has found his forever home, and is now named Dunkin! His new family tells us, "We are enjoying having Dunkin around! He really likes the laser toy and has been great around all our friends who have visited." Congratulations, Billy!

Chelsea

Sweet Chelsea now has her forever home with a wonderful family in Kensington, MD. Her new mom tells us, "She's really sociable, had no problem adjusting, plays with all the toys we've bought her." Looks like she's settling right in!

Brownie

Brownie has settled into her new life with her mom and dad in Washington, D.C.. She loves going on long walks around the neighborhood, where she's the most popular little girl around. Her best friend is a little Pug who lives next door, If she's in a sleepy mood, Brownie loves nothing more than snuggling on the couch with Mom and Dad and having her belly rubbed. When she's playful, she loves to chase her ball up and down the hallway or around the backyard. She loves going on rides in the car, and she's been to six new states so far. Brownie's mom says, "We love her and can't imagine life without her!"

Barry

Barry caught our eye at a local shelter. This handsome boy reached a paw out for attention and then head butted the side of his cage as if to say “please take me with you – I need someone to cuddle”. As it turned out he is every bit as sweet as he seemed to be, and one of the nicest, best natured cats you could ever meet. Happily, Barry has now found his forever home in Arlington and his adopter reports they are having great fun together. Congratulations Barry and enjoy your new home!

Harry

Harry’s new mom is considering renaming him Mayhem. This mischievous and energetic purr machine stole the heart of a supervisor at one of our participating vets and the feeling was mutual! Harry has lots of playmates to keep him company when his mom is at work (2 dogs and another cat) and sometimes he helps his mom at the vet’s office, where he’s always the center of attention. We couldn’t be happier for Harry and he couldn’t have found a better home!

Jacques and Eddy

Eddy & Jacques have a marvelous new home in Washington DC where they are being spoiled by their two new parents. Eddy has been renamed Porter and Jacques is keeping his name – but both are enjoying lots of cuddle time, play time and are the center of attention. That’s just how it was meant to be for two adorable and sweet kittens like these two – welcome home!

Freddie

Freddie, the kitten with the coloring of a cow, is doing great in his new Mclean, VA home. His adoptive mom writes, "By the first day, he had settled in & made my roommate & myself into his personal lounge chairs. He is very cuddly! He loves to play all the time & he eats a ton!" It is obvious that Freddie is very happy in his new home and we are so happy for him.

Slate

Sweet super-sized Slate, the hot water bottle in the shape of a cat, has finally found his forever family! They met Slate at an adoption event in Virginia and fell in love. In fact, mom held him on her lap for quite a long while. Rescued in July, 2010, the big guy had three different foster homes until his adoption. The chances of an older black cat finding an adopter are incredibly poor, therefore, it is especially wonderful that Slate (now called Puma) has a loving family! His new dad is constructing special steps, so Puma can join them on the sofa and bed. Puma will be making the trip to their native Canada in a year when the family returns home. There is a loving home for all rescued animals. And it is worth the wait!

Maya

Maya's new mom writes, "Just wanted to let you know that Maya has settled in nicely. Could not ask for a better, well behaved puppy. She loves going for hikes on Bull Run Mtn (pic from observation peak), playing fetch with her ball and playing with our neighbors dogs and kids. She has been such a joyful addition to our family. Even Snickers, our cat of 8 yrs, likes to play with her."

Tobias

This very sweet boy is diabetic and needed a special family to see what a great cat he is. Fortunately for Tobias the parents of his foster mom fell in love and decided to give him the safe and loving forever home that he needed. Thanks to their ability to see his wonderful personality, he is now very happy in his new home and with a special diet his diabetes is also under control – we love happy beginnings!

Davey

Davey has found a wonderful forever home in Washington DC. His new mom was looking for a loving tabby boy and when she met him she knew he was the purr-fect choice and Davey thought so too! Welcome home Davey!

Minka

This little gal was a skittish baby who was fostered by a super nice couple. While socializing Minka, they fell in love with her and their resident cats did, too. So, Miss Minka is where she was always meant to be - living with her chosen people!

Fenway

This little tuxedo guy is loving his new "playing field!" Fenway has both dog and cat friends, and a human who absolutely adores him. Fenway certainly hit a home run when he found his forever home!

Franklin

Franklin (or Frankie, as he is now known) now lives in Falls Church, VA with another kitten who loves new playmate. He also has a 5 year old boy and an 11 year old girl who give him loads of attention. Frankie is very happy and he loves his forever home. Yay, Frankie!

Mikey

Little Mikey would have been put down if PetConnect had not rescued him from a rural SC shelter. This gorgeous boy went to the home of an experienced wonderful foster. She worked hard to socialize him, but we were afraid Mikey would not find adopters who have the patience for a very shy guy. It took a little time, but Mikey was adopted by a sweet couple who have experience with shy kitties. Mikey is safe and happy in Germantown with his kind people and their two cats.

Daphne

Daphne has traded in her past life in rural North Carolina for a new permanent home in Washington, DC. This sweet and playful girl joined PetConnect Rescue in February. While she was waiting for her forever home, a wonderful family applied to become fosters after losing their beloved kitty. After only a few weeks of fostering Daphne, they discovered her fun and loving personality and decided to make her a permanent family member. Welcome home, "Daffy!"

Pip and Jerry

This brother and sister pair were lucky enough to find a forever home together! Their new family writes,"I wanted to thank you again for helping us find TWO new members of our family! Pip, who we named "Mia" and Jerry, who we named "Miles," are settling in wonderfully in their new home. Our oldest cat, Gabby, barely pays them any mind. She's a very peaceful soul. Our "big boy" Montana is as curious as he can be, but the kittens aren't quite ready to make friends yet, so they growl and hiss. It's actually pretty funny! Lily, our shy girl, is very interested in these new little babies, but she's content watching them play from afar right now. "The twins" (as we've been calling them) love to sleep on my husband and I, and we are more than happy to be their pillows! Their human "grandmothers" have already been to see them, and of course...they've fallen in love with them as well! We're so grateful we found these two little angels! We'll forever be grateful that we took the chance to fill out that online application. Rest assured...these kitties are in a forever home that will treasure them always."

Kermit

Kermit, a Briard/Wheaton Terrier mix, was adopted by a family in Rockville. Kermit has found his comfortable spot on the sofa and right behind him is his sister Cici, a miniature Dachshund, who was adopted from PetConnect a year and a half ago. Above them is his brother Charlie, a Cairn terrier. Kermit is settling in with his new family, and is very happy and lively. All three dogs are spoiled and loved very much.

Fred and George

Kittens Fred and George have moved in to their forever home in Reston and have continued their tradition of sharing the favorite places with the human children in the home (Fred on the princess chair and George on a changing table). As you can see they already feel very much at home! They bonded quickly with their new family when they all had to share the basement during the recent power outage. Welcome home Fred and George.

KT

KT's new family tells us that they really love her! We love it when there are happy endings.

Nala

Nala has found her home with a family that fosters dogs for PetConnect. Her new mom saw Nala's photo online and was struck by her beauty. Lucky Nala has known extremes in her life: she went from the threat of being shot with her litter of kittens after being discovered on someone's property in South Carolina, to a loving -- and safe -- forever home.

Primrose and Lewis

Primrose and Lewis, while not biological siblings, have joined a family together. These two friendly and silly kitties were adopted by a mother and daughter who just knew that they were right for them.

Ophelia

Ophelia, once abandoned and pregnant, watched all her babies get adopted and then waited. She waited for quite awhile but finally found her forever home. While the cat she joined there was not sure about her at first, but they have grown to be buddies. Congratulations, Ophelia!

Celeste

Beautiful Celeste was abandoned with her kitten by the people who were supposed to care for her. PetConnect immediately took them in, and it wasn't long before Celeste found a wonderful, Siamese-loving home. When they first met, Celeste simply stared at her new dad as though she was mesmerized by him. It looks like she is as thrilled with her new family as they are with her!

Zia

Zia's new parents knew right away that she was the right one for them! After much research about cats and cat care, they fell for her once they met, and we think the feeling is mutual.

Jenny

Jenny is home-at-last with a wonderful, cat-loving family. She joined a family with an older male cat and the two of them are on their way to becoming best pals!

Midnight

Sweet cuddly Midnight (now Poe) is very happy in his Silver Spring forever home with his "big sister" cat named Emily (Dickinson). He loves to play with Emily's tail and she tolerates his kittenish antics. And Poe's humans adore him! What a lucky guy.

Cosmos

This beautiful sweet boy was left behind when his owners moved away from Kensington, Md. Lucky for him, Cosmos had human angels looking out for him. One of his neighborhood caretakers, with the assistance of PetConnect, took him into her home to foster. She was mourning the recent loss of her older beloved cat and was not yet ready for a new family member. But Cosmos decided to adopt his new "mom" and became her constant companion; thus, a mutual "love affair" slowly blossomed. Grateful Cosmos is loving his "new" home and caring for his adopter, and we know he is very appreciated and loved.

Ollie

Ollie (stretched out on the chair) is enjoying his new home very much! He has joined another PetConnect Rescue alumni, Mia, (sitting on the cat tree) and they’re getting along very well. His new parents love his sweet personality and Mia thinks its wonderful to have a playmate – welcome home Ollie!

Murphy

Murphy is home at last! His new family tells us, "Our kitten, Anakin (as in, Anakin Skywalker of Star Wars), is doing splendidly! He's so awesome and we couldn't be happier with our choice. Also, Lorna and her family took such good care of him while Nick and I were away for our wedding; he's a well adjusted little guy."

Blaze

Her new dad tells us, "Blaze is doing very well at home, she is enjoying exploring my apartment. My girlfriend has had several cats so she is helping me learn all the tricks of the trade, but Blaze has been super easy to take care of. She always uses the litter box and is friendly and active. I'm taking her to the vet soon to continue her vaccination schedule, Lorna did a great job of explaining what what required and prepping us for taking Blaze home. I want to thank you for how easy the adotion process was, and know that we are all very happy at home." Congratulations, Blaze!

Quinn

Sweet Quinn watched while each of his brothers was adopted. But he was not alone for very long. A wonderful mother and daughter met Quinn at an adoption event in Olney and it was love at first sight. Quinn purred and fell asleep in the daughter's arms and her mother was happy her daughter would be able to adopt a kitty to call her own. Quinn will be sharing his Olney home with a female cat called Angel who is very attached to mom. Angel and Quinn each have a human to love.

Norton

Nortons new family consists of a new mom and dad who have active grandsons who love to play. His new mom says, “Norton loves to be near us, loves to get brushed, and even has begun to pick out his own toys at the pet store. We weren't sure about the furniture but he jumps up on the couch and snuggled with people...so it is all good. At bedtime he ends up sleeping at the end of the bed. Norton is great!”

Kallie

Kallie stole the heart of her adopter. This gentleman and his mother were looking for a kitten, and Kallie made their decision easy. Now named Natalie, she is living the high life with a feline sister, three canine siblings, and two humans to spoil her rotten.

Lil Ricky

Li'l Ricky now has a new family and canine sister Molly in N Potomac. They write, “He really is a sweetheart. He is funny about many things...he doesn't trust his food bowls yet...he sneaks up cautiously and stretches way out on his tippy toes to reach them, occasionally bolting away for no apparent reason. When he wants to jump up on the couch or chair to be with us, he launches himself from a standstill about 3 feet away...he appears to fly up and land...he is so funny! He likes to have a towel in his bed to burrow under while he sleeps. We wake up and see just his little snoot poking out from under the towel. It's great to see him wagging his tail and turning little 360 spins because he is happy or excited about something or someone here. This will be his final stop...Ricky is home! We love him very much, he has stolen our hearts!”

Socks and Butters

These golden boys struck gold! Not only did they find a family who is completely smitten with them, they were be adopted with their favorite playmates - each other! On their adoption day, their new little girl displayed a "welcome home" banner she made just for them, and their new mom showered them with all sorts of toys and kitty jungle gyms. Socks and Butters immediately settled into their new home which they are now enjoying with the company of the resident basset hound as well as their loving forever family.

Cobie

Cobie was adopted by a family with two children in Dumfries, VA, after they saw his photo on the website and fell in love with his eyes. As soon as they met him, they knew he was the one for them. His mom writes, “He is the talk of the neighborhood and loves walking the kids to school every morning. We are so happy to have him as a part of our family.”

Monica

Gorgeous Monica was rescued from a local shelter because adult cats are often overlooked by potential adopters. Monica displayed patience and poise with her adopter's two-year-old daughter, so they knew she was the right cat for them. Monica loves her human "sister" and the feeling is mutual!

Cleo

Cleo and her brother were dropped off at a high kill shelter. Both were scooped up by rescues, with Cleo coming to PetConnect, where she was so shy it was hard to get her to come out from under the table to even say hello to future adopters. Her wonderful foster parents worked very hard on getting her to trust people. It was a lot of work, but it paid off. Cleo is now living with her new mom in a big townhouse in Poolesville where she is the center of everything, and gets lots of long walks and belly rubs. Her new mom says, "She is doing great! Everyday I see more of her true personality come out - what a wonderful puppy she is. Thanks so much for allowing me to have her, I couldn't be happier."

Ray and Suzie

Ray and Suzie (now known as Toby and Gracie) talked their adopters into adopting two kittens instead of one, which was their adopters' original plan. When the family entered their foster home, Ray/Toby started purring instantly, and Suzie/Gracie flopped on her back for belly rubs. Toby seemed to speak to the dad, and Gracie to their daughter, so the family decided to adopt them both! Now these sweet kittens have three people to call their own, as well as a doggie sister, and they are all getting along famously.

Andy

Andy’s new family didn't want him to forget his roots, so they combined his new name with his old. Meet Indy Andy! According to his new mom, “Thank you so much for introducing Indy to us. Indy is quickly becoming a part of the household and a member of the family. We love his constant company, affection and our playtime in the living room. He has been nothing but affectionate, playful, and at ease since coming to our home. We enjoy having a new member of our family to laugh, hug and love. It has been a true joy watching him discover, trust and finally adopt us as his family as much as it has been for us. I am also grateful to Lyn and Theresa’s help to make it a positive adoption experience."

Gloria

Gloria was one of three little Shih Tzu sisters who came to PetConnect from a DC shelter after being dropped off by someone who simply didn't want them anymore. Gloria went to the home of a  generous loving couple with big hearts for unloved dogs...they had rescued five. Gloria became the queen bee of the house, not even aware that the other dogs were a lot bigger. PetConnect still gets calls telling us how Gloria is the most wonderful dog the family has ever met!

Gracie

Gracie is Home at Last in Clarksburg, MD with her new mom, dad, and canine brother Remy. Her new mom writes: "Gracie is doing very well! She fits perfectly into the family and loves her chocolate lab brother- Remy. She started to open up very quickly after coming to us a little over a month ago and has shown us her fun loving personality. Gracie is always up for a long walk and loves, loves ,loves water! If she sees even a puddle she wants to jump in. We are so happy with her and are glad she is part of the family!"

These two sisters immediately won the heart of a young woman, a recent college grad, who hoped to find a kitty companion. Now she has not one, but two loving friends to bring her joy for many years to come!

Delilah and Chandler

A wonderful Bethesda couple decided that they were ready to bring a kitty into their family. Delilah caught their attention, but once meeting her and her brother, they couldn't take just one! This lucky sister and brother will get to stay together with a great new home.

Theo

Theo is now at home in Rockville, with an animal-loving family. While the beagle in the house is very interested in Theo's food, Theo himself is not too bothered by the commotion. His new family was so happy to adopt him and give him a loving home!

Dottie and Spottie

These two adorable sisters have found their forever home in Rockville MD. Renamed Belle and Bailey, their new mom reports being totally in love with them both (and wishing that she had half their energy)!

Charlee

Sweet Charlee-girl could be the luckiest cat on the planet. After waiting to find the purr-fect family they finally found her. Unfortunately, after her adoption she became seriously ill with a virus. Partnering with PetConnect and with the help of a critical care veterinary practice her new family saw her through it with patience, love and determination. Now fully recovered Charlee is enjoying sharing her humans with Meep (the other resident cat). Welcome home Charlee, we couldn’t be happier for you and your new family!

Ebby and Eva

Ebby was abandoned by the people who were supposed to care for her. Homeless and pregnant, Ebby was brought into a wonderful PetConnect foster home. Now, she is lucky enough to have found a forever home with one of her babies, Eva. This mom and daughter duo are settling into their new place, following their new family around everywhere. What a happy ending!

Eclipse and Esme

Eclipse, now known as "Yogi Bear", has found his forever home with a lover of fluffy cats! It only took a day for them to realize that they needed Eclipse's sister Esme as part of their family, too! Now they are home-at-last, together. Their new mom tells us, "Sometimes Bernie and Yogi (we called him Yogi Bear) lay next to each other and sort of play patty-cake with each other. Then they get carried away and Bernie starts batting harder, then Yogi quits. They have quite a few games like that. They aren't quite FRIENDS yet, but when they get into different rooms, one will meow so that the other can find him, so I think they sort of like each other but don't want to admit it yet. They eat and take baths together and use each other's litter boxes." Congratulations to all!

Adele and Bradbury

Although these two cuties are not related, Adele and Bradbury shared the same foster home and became good friends. Lucky for them, they were adopted together, so they will be able to play, groom, and snuggle together. And they have another playmate, too! The wonderful couple who adopted them has a tuxedo kitty (black with white) which completes their black and white trifecta!

Smudge

Petite Smudge has found her home with wonderful mom, two parrots and a rescued dog. The two parrots think her name is "Lily" and call her so! Smudge doesn't seem to mind, as long as they remember that she rules the roost now!

Daisy and Gavin

While not related these two sweet kittens became best buddies in the shelter and stayed together in their foster home. Now they’ll share a new forever family in Gaithersburg with two children to love and spoil them! Welcome home Daisy and Gavin!

Pearl

Pearl is home with a family that knew from the first moment they saw her that she was the right kitty for them! Her new mom says that Pearl is well-loved and that "She loves the kids too! She has to be near one of them and she loves playing with them. She is unlike any cat I have ever been around." What a happy ending for everyone!

Una

Una's little face simply beamed up at her new mom, as she spoke to her softly in Russian and cradled her like a baby. It was a simply amazing sight! This match was meant to be.

Kai

John adopted Kai and renamed her Layla. He writes: "I would like to tell everybody involved and working with PetConnect Rescue how much Layla means to me. I found Kai online and we met soon after at a PetConnect “Meet & Greet.” We met Bev (Kai's foster mom) and told her how interested we were to have Kai in our family. We filled out the application, which was followed by an interview and home visit. Kai (now Layla) is an alpha girl with great intelligence and intuition. She was house broken in two days (even while changing her diet) and hasn't damaged anything in the house. Layla is now 35 lbs. & loves to go to the creek. She retrieves tennis balls and Frisbees, and eats everything on the ground. She is an angel who is helping me in many ways getting through a difficult time in my life. I sincerely thank everyone involved with PetConnect Rescue and want you to know that she's being spoiled and she's happy, healthy and beautiful!"

Millie

Certain cats pick their rescuers, and that is exactly what little Millie did when she chose PCR rescuer Mallory at the shelter. Once Millie was in Mallory's home, she made it clear she was there to stay. So, the question became, "how do we keep her in the family?" Luckily, Mallory's father visits often and he fell in love with her. He too wanted to keep her close, so off she went to Georgia to live with Mallory's grandparents. Bitsy, as she has been renamed, is now the queen of Yiayia and Papou's apartment, with visitors from all over their assisted living facility. Bitsy's current favorite sleeping spot is curled up like a scarf on Yiayia's neck, and Yiayia couldn't be happier! This little lady is right where she was meant to be!

Gator

Gator was adopted by a family in Laytonsville with five kids and two other dogs. His new mom writes: "Who would've never known that a pup named Gator (Theo) would wiggle his way into our hearts. Earlier this month, our family lost our dear Shepherd mix. We knew we would never replace Doodles, but we wanted to find a pup that would bring the joy back into our other pups and us. Our family does a lot of volunteer work in and around the DC Metro area, from helping the homeless to working with kids with special needs. We wanted to find a pup that we could train to join us in our volunteer work, from allowing children to read to them around the community to visiting nursing homes. I did a Google search online and found PetConnect Rescue, after reading all the pups bios and information, our family decided to put in an application. The meaning of Theo is Gift of God, he's perfect and knew his was our special gift and he was definitely taken care by some special people. Thank you to our foster moms and volunteers for helping bring Theo into our lives and we look forward in being a part of the PetConnect Family for a very long time."

Gemini

Gemini went into foster care after being abandoned at a local barn and in the process found her forever home. Her foster mom's roommate fell in love with her and is excited to be adopting her. Gemini's new name is Finn (pronounced Finny), and she will be moving to DC with her new mom and dad in June. Best of luck little girl!

Batman

Batman's new mom writes: "Batman is now "Mars" and I don't really have a great idea as to how my boys came up with that! He and Lucy played for about an hour and a half straight last night! Mars was wiped out almost immediately and I heard Lucy's name plate hit the floor about 10 minutes after she came in our room! He is doing great...we love love love him! Thanks to Sarah and her family for giving him such a wonderful and loving start!!"

Buddha

Rescued from a local shelter Buddha was the perfect guest in his foster home. Now he’s found his forever home with a wonderful family in Bethesda. Renamed Fabio, he’s getting to know his adopted big brother Rudy (pictured at the top of the cat tree with Fabio on the bottom). As you can see its going well and Fabio is delighted to have found such a fantastic home with two people who already love him very much.

Cocoa

Rescued from a shelter with her two sisters after her owner gave them up, little Cocoa (now Marceline) found herself in PetConnect hands and soon in the hands of her new family. Her new mom, dad and a brand new brother will help Marceline feel safe and happy. She will enjoy her new life in a sunny home with a big backyard. Marceline’s new mom says, "She is the sweetest, most affectionate girl. I can't believe anyone gave her up. She is exactly what I have always wanted, and we are crazy about her. She has bonded with all three of us, and smiles all the time." She’s found her forever home, and her new family is hoping for future reunions with her sisters after they find a home, too.

Bourbon

This cute little guy is all tuckered out and obviously happy after playing with his new family (including a new big sister kitty named Fiona). Bourbon was rescued from a southern shelter and met his adopters in his foster home. They fell in love immediately and have decided to rename him Oliver (Ollie for short). Congratulations Ollie on finding a fantastic forever home!

Amelia Earhart and Christopher

Amelia and Christopher’s new family went to Virginia to buy some tires and decided to stop by an Adoption Event. These two cuties won their hearts immediately and are now enjoying their new home in Bethesda (maybe they should be renamed Michelin and Goodyear)! They share their home with two resident cats, Savantha and Giovanni, who they are getting to know gradually. These two are so happy to be home at last!

Lambchop

Lambchop is now Lacey. Her new mom says, "It's been two months since I adopted Lacy, and she has adapted very well to life with me. She follows me everywhere, and tries to dash out the door if I leave without her. She's a great car traveler, and has been to the beach twice. I'm attaching a photo of her on the boardwalk. The best part of my day is when Lacey plays with her little squeaker toys. She will toss them in the air or fling them across the room, then bring them back so I can throw them for her. She's still extremely shy around most other people, but we're working on that at her own pace."

Blackjack

Blackjack (who now goes by just Jack) and his family all won the jackpot when he joined the family. His transition has gone very smoothly and he’s settled right into the routine. Jack loves that there’s good food to eat, plenty of bones to gnaw, yummy treats for doing good, and lots of hands to scratch those places he can’t reach. He enjoys walks in the park, playing with his neighbor friend (a Boxer/Lab mix) in his newly fenced backyard, and is excited to start manners classes.

Chloe and Maizy

Chloe and Maizy, two sisters, were found by a wonderful family at a PetConnect dog adoption event. Their new home is full of loving people now: kids to play with, a new mom, grandparents that hang with them all day. But best of all, they still have each other, says their new mom. "Thank you PetConnect for rescuing these two sweet girls & making it possible for them to become a part of our family! Chloe and Maizy have made themselves right at home and are doing great. They are so loveable, cuddly and full of personality. Special thanks to Suzanne for being such a wonderful foster mom to them."

Skylar

Skylar, one of Lady's pups, now has a dad and two canine siblings. Dad writes, "All has been great with Skylar. She has been unbelievable. My Mishka Bear, who is a mix and about 45 pounds adores Skylar. From the minute she came thru the door HE has been in charge of her and she has been his buddy...they play together...and play and play and play. This is a picture of Skylar with my other dog, Bo. Bo was not so enthusiastic about Skylar's arrival. But they now are now going steady. It's funny because Skylar (9 weeks old) is actually bigger than Bo (two and a half years old)...it's a wonderful life with them all."

Annie

Little kitten Annie is an orphan no more! At home now in Virginia, Annie has a wonderful family to call her own. She even has a dog as a brother, who after a few days of getting used to, is now her best friend.

According to her adoptive family she is now romping and playing with Loki and is so happy to have found her forever home!

Belle

Belle’s new mom knew right away that this was the kitty for her family when she saw her picture. When Belle arrived at their home, her foster cautioned that she might be a bit shy at first. As soon as she opened the carrier door Belle marched out, tail held high and began to survey her new home. Watching with interest was their other cat Scooter. Belle greeted the family and began to play with the many toys, cat trees and made herself at home immediately! Scooter and Belle are already napping together, so it’s a very happy beginning for everyone! As you can see from the picture she is very happy to be Home at Last!

Isabella

Isabella drew a lot of attention right away when she joined PetConnect. It didn't take long for her to find a very caring new mom who was a fellow cat rescuer in the past. She is now living the good life in her new home in Gaithersburg with a kitty big brother Benji. Welcome home, Isabella!

Mahoney and Peanut

Mahoney and Peanut were saved from being turned into a shelter by a caring couple in Potomac that reached out to PetConnect for help and agreed to foster them until a forever home could be found. When their new family came to visit they brought all four of their children and both cats were rolling around for belly rubs, licking the kids' hands and playing with them. They had not been that way with every guest so it was obviously love at first sight for everyone! The kids were laughing and jokingly debated which cat liked which kid better. We know they are so happy to be home at last with a family to love and spoil them!

Darci

It's a new life for Darci, now Raleigh, in Bethesda with an active and loving family who adore her. "She is incredibly sweet, has quickly come to love all of us, and has become an indispensable part of our family. She has fallen right into our routine and enjoys the rhythm of our life. She spends every night sleeping in our son's room, and spends the day happily following us around the house as we conduct our lives. Over the weekend, we took her on her first hike with us - a three hour excursion in Catoctin Mountain Park. She loved it, and we loved having her along with us! Thank you so much for helping us find her, and for caring for her until she found a home."

Butch and Sundance

These two “outlaws” have ridden into the sunset to their forever home in Reston, VA! They’ve already stolen the hearts of their new family who report that there is a naming contest under way, but believe they will be renamed Max & Jake. Welcome home boys!

Magic

Magic has hit the jackpot! The PetConnect volunteer who rescued him has decided she will adopt him. He is a very lucky boy because his human mom is dedicated to animal care and she loves him. Soon, Magic will be starting a new life when he and his "mom" move to Texas. Since Magic has a big personality, he should fit right into his new big state!

Her new guardians write: “She's such a sweet cat; and we are thrilled to have her in our home! She spends most of the day asleep in a chair next to me while I work (soliciting a good petting every couple of hours), and she chases shadows, cat toys and laser pointers by night. The afternoon sun makes a nice warm spot on the carpet, which has also been a favorite place to sleep.” Welcome home Gina!

Miles also shares the house with a large teddy-bear hamster and many fish who reside in a fish tank, though he has no interest in these other "siblings." Miles just wants to be around people and he has plenty of opportunity for this! He even greeted every one of the guests at a recent party in "his" home. We are so happy Miles is Home at Last!

As his new mom says, “Rescue cats are the best!” Congratulations on finding your new family, Freddie!

When we checked in with Winston’s new mom to make sure that he was settling in OK home she shared the following: “Oh pleeze....he's already scratched on his scratching board, enjoyed the catnip scent, took a nap in his new fancy bed, ate a little snack and toured the first floor on his own. He's such a trooper! He just hasn't gotten his chunky butt upstairs yet...I tried to entice him to come upstairs with me (bedroom level) but he was more interested in lying in the middle of the kitchen floor while my son made a hamburger...and tried to wedge himself into the refrigerator. He's like Garfield! I might have to get Lasagna :-) “ Winston will be sharing the home with a new lab puppy and sounds like he’s already made himself very much at home!

Henry

Henry is now Leo, and his new mom writes, "We went to visit him and fell in love...it's been a week with our new little dog, Leo. He is doing great!!! So sweet and so far well behaved. A little skittish when he meets men or hears loud noises. But he loves other dogs. Wants to run and play with every 4 legged friend he meets. He is so sweet and a good match for us."

Andy and Conan

These fun-loving brothers joined PetConnect from a local shelter as mere 3 month old kittens. Their playful personalities captured the attention of their new family, who was looking to add a pair of young kitties to their home. They seem to be a perfect fit. We think he likes it here and will adjust quickly to all the love he receives. We love him and he considers us his pack now."

From his new dad: "All is very well ...Prancer AKA Putchky is a wonderful little dog and adapting famously with us. I am his new best friend and when I am home he keeps me in his eyesight the entire time. It seems like he has been with us forever already. He is comfortable and happy.. I took him to the Vet the day after we got him and the doctor said that he was physically sound except his teeth which we will take care of later. He also got a bath and I was told what a great dog he was. I am very happy and grateful for the decision to take care of him and I think it is reciprocal with him. Thank you for making it possible for all of us to be together."

Cody

Cody was very patient waiting for his new forever home and at last he’s found it! He is now enjoying being the center of attention in that Potomac home, with twin boys to spoil and love him. Welcome home Cody!

Pebbles

From her new mom: "Just wanted to let you know that Pebbles (we kept her name) is doing really well living with us in Bethesda! She has been a such a great addition to our family and is a good companion for our boys. She is so mellow inside (which Mom and Dad like), but has so much energy when she steps out of the house (which our boys like). They love playing with her outside and taking her on walks or going to the dog park. Thanks to you all for making this perfect match!"

Strider

Little Strider was rescued from a rural Virginia shelter. His new family in Frederick includes Guinness an 11 month old kitten, who was in search of a playmate. Guinness and Strider are still getting acquainted, but it looks like they’ll be best buddies. His adopters say that Strider is already cuddling with them and is great at giving kitten kisses. Sounds like a happy beginning for everyone!

Ollie

Ollie's new mom writes, "He has been wonderful. We could not have asked for a better match. He fit in immediately. He is affectionate and follows me everywhere. My husband set up a dog bed next to his desk since he works from home and said he sleeps next to him all day if I'm not there. He is still sleeping in his kennel at night until we are sure he won't chew something unattended but he lets us know when he's ready to get up and go to the bathroom. We then allow him in bed and he is in heaven! The hearing disability has actually worked out for him. The kids don't frighten him when they cry or yell. He pays no attention to it and I know that's something dogs have to learn to adjust to. It just takes some getting used to when you call him and there is no response! We love having him."

Taylor

This sweet boy met his new mom at an adoption event and it was love at first sight for both of them! His new mom writes “Just thought you'd like to know that Taylor is adjusting beautifully to our wild household. As you will see from the attached, he and Sally are making great strides! We are all really excited about Taylor and feel grateful that he has joined our family. Thanks for all of your help and for being such a great foster family for him.” Welcome home Taylor!

Nora

Nora’s new family wanted to get a kitty in honor of a birthday. They saw her picture on the web and thought she’d make a purr-fect addition to their family! She’s settling in well to her new home in Gaithersburg and is so happy to be Home at Last!

Sue and Po

Sue and Po (also called Cinder) were rescued from a shelter where they languished until their time was up. The shelter contacted PetConnect Rescue and we were able to save these beautiful sweet girls because two of our kind kitty fosters agreed to take them in. Sue and Po stayed with their foster parents for a long while. Unfortunately, black and black/white cats are often overlooked and, therefore, they are the most euthanized in shelters. Sue and Po were rescued for a second time by their new mom and they now reside comfortably and well loved in Leesburg, VA. What a way to begin the new year and their new lives!

Kira and Kazoo

These two sweet sisters, after waiting many months, have finally found their purr-fect forever home together in Germantown! While a bit shy, when meeting their new parents, it took only a few minutes for them to realize that they wanted both girls. Their new mom writes: “We are thoroughly in love and each time one of them jumps up to say hello, or sits down for a moment we feel so special! We're so grateful to you for taking care of and loving "the girls" until we were able to find them.” Welcome home Kira and Kazoo!

Tinks

Sweet, playful and gentle Tinks has found her forever home with a loving family in Burke Virginia. Even better, Tinks will have a new puppy (also adopted from PetConnect) to play and wrestle with, plus two kids to love and spoil her! Tinks couldn’t be happier in her new home and we couldn’t be happier for her!

William

Sweet Prince William waited quite a while for his perfect family to find him. And now he is Home at Last with a family whose kids love him very much. They saw him on line and just knew he was the one for them. And William whole-heartedly agreed!

Johnny Mack

Playful Johnny Mack has found the most wonderful new home in Gaithersburg, Maryland! With kids to spoil and love him, he’ll keep the family entertained with his antics and when play time is over he’ll have lots love and cuddles to give his new family. He couldn’t be happier to be Home at Last!
