Our Success Stories:
These photos tell the stories of the many wonderful dogs and cats that have been rescued through PetConnect and are Home At Last. We invite you to see what can really happen when people come together to save animals in need. We extend our profuse thanks to all the wonderful people who have adopted these animals and given them loving homes. We hope that they are bringing as much joy to your lives as you have brought to theirs.
Sammy, formerly Aspen, was adopted last summer and his mom wrote to let us know that he’s doing great! He and his kitty big brother Frankie are inseparable and love taking naps together. Way to go Sammy!
After being a wonderful mom to her kittens, it was Betty’s turn to find love. Her family is smitten with her. According to her new mom, “She is so wonderful, we feel very lucky. We bought her some toys and it looks like it’s a hit!! Thank you again so much!”
Sweet Connie has been adopted! She has left her sad past behind and has found the great forever home that she deserves; she will be pampered and adored by her human sister Carolyn and brother Jack, and their parents — she is a very lucky dog!
Asher, now Duke, will be enjoying life at the Jersey shore! We see a happy future filled with adventures & lots of love from his new little sister & many canine cousins!
Dory came to PetConnect from Puerto Rico. After being treated for alopecia, which caused her to lose most of her fur, Dory was excited for a new start at life and couldn’t wait to find her happily ever after. She was welcomed off her freedom flight by her human and canine family members, all of who have fallen head over heels in love with her. Dory is loving her new family and exploring all the good things life has to offer!
Sweet Bruno found his forever home. With two children to play & cuddle with, what more could a puppy want? We see lots of adventures in this pup’s future!
Mark has found such a wonderful home in Arlington where he settled in so quickly (to the surprise of no one). Loki, as he now goes by, immediately became part of his forever home’s family. He has bonded so well with his humans, craving attention and being very playful, to the delight of everyone.
Crinkles, now Poppy, is loving life with her family. Her mom writes, “As you can see she gets lots of love and enjoys doing all the things my 9 year old daughter loves to do! They’re best of friends. Thanks for all you do.”
After sometime debating getting a dog, we decided to rescue a dog. We looked at several dogs and then PetConnect recommended Molly (formerly Starr) was probably a good fit for us. Molly had a perfect one hour ride home to her forever home. She sat in the back seat and was very well behaved. Upon arriving home in Maryland, she checked out the entire house. That night she slept in our bedroom on her new dog bed the entire night and subsequently has slept the night in her bed or on a couch. Molly enjoys her new backyard. She will play with and tennis play by herself (working on fetch and bring). Loves to play with and throw her toys around toys while inside. Currently, Molly is in obedience training.
I live in Gwynn Oak, MD with my husband Dave and my 16 year old daughter, Sydney. We rescued our first dog in February, 2015, a 4 year old boxer we named Jasmine. She has been a wonderful addition to our family for almost 2 years, now. We recently decided that we would like to add to our family by rescuing another dog. Our family found Catcher on line through the Pet Connect Rescue website in November. After the application process, and a home visit, we were invited to come out and meet him. We brought Jasmine with us to meet Catcher at his foster home. We didn’t know what to expect since the rescue noted he was nervous around new people, especially men. We also didn’t know how Jasmine and Catcher would get along. The meeting went very well and we brought him home with us on the same day-12/3/16. It was a long drive from his foster home in Poolesville, MD to our home in Gwynn Oak, MD. Despite being new to him, he curled up next to me and put his head in my lap…That is how he stole my heart. Catcher has adjusted well to life with our family since we brought him home. He loves playing with his sister Jasmine and they get along very well. He also likes playing with his humans whether it is tugging the rope, fetching the ball, or just rough play. His favorite toy seems to be whatever toy Jasmine is playing with. He loves to go on walks and we enjoy watching him run and play at the dog park. He is a great cuddler when watching television or reading a book. At night, he can usually be found curled up in bed next to one of us, always touching his humans. We couldn’t be happier with Catcher. He is such a sweet boy and a really good dog. He seems happy too in his forever home with our family.
