Susan Cunneen

Susan, an oncology nurse who works as a director of marketing in biotech, has loved animals for her entire life.  As a child, she had dogs, cats, guinea pigs, fish, mice, and often brought home injured wildlife. As an adult, she has always had dogs and cats as part of her family and 15 years ago started volunteering for the Washington Humane Society, now Humane Rescue Alliance.  Five years ago after her last elderly dog died, Susan started researching various rescue organizations in the DMV, and found that PetConnect Rescue aligned closely with her values, and she adopted Izzy, a wonderful now 13-year-old dog.  After learning more about how PCR works, she started volunteering as the In-Kind Donations captain and is absolutely delighted to join the Board to further the organization’s work.  Susan has a particular passion for senior animals and recently added another PCR senior, Sally, to her family.

Susan, along with Izzy, live in Chantilly, VA.  She has an adult son, who married another animal lover, and they have two beautiful daughters and, of course, a rescued Jack Russell Terrier.
