How Do I Adopt a PetConnect Rescue Animal?

    Browse adoptable pets on our website or stop by one of our adoption events to meet pets in person. Whether you already have a specific animal in mind or are just starting your search, we’re happy to help you find the right fit!

    Step 2: Submit an Adoption Questionnaire

    Found a pet you love? Fill out our short adoption questionnaire to tell us a little about yourself and what you’re looking for in a pet. You can specify a dog or cat you’d like to adopt, or just share your preferences and lifestyle and let us help.

    Step3: Connect with the PetConnect Team

    One of our friendly adoption volunteers will reach out within 48 hours to chat with you about the pet you’re interested in and help determine if the pet might be a great match for everyone involved. We can also offer suggestions for pets who might fit right in with your lifestyle.

    Step 4: Bring Your New Family Member Home

    If you meet an animal you want to adopt at an adoption event, you may be able to go home with your new family member the same day (this depends on the individual dog or cat). If you haven’t met the pet yet, we’ll arrange a meet-and-greet with the foster family before finalizing the adoption.

    If you and the PetConnect team member agree that this will be a good match, Congratulations! We will send you a link to complete the adoption right on your phone, tablet, or computer.

    Good to Know:

    All of our available animals over 6 months of age are spayed or neutered before adoption.

    If you adopt a pet under 6 months of age, you will receive a voucher for spay or neuter at one of our vet partners.

    We generally do not have information about the parentage of the animals in our care, so we can’t guarantee the breeds that have been assigned to animals we place for adoption.

    Adoption Fees

    PetConnect requires an adoption fee for all of our rescued animals. The adoption fees help cover the medical, transport, supply, and other animal expenses associated with rescuing our animals. The expenses for each rescued animal almost always exceed our adoption fee for them. Please note that adoption fees are not tax-deductible.

      Dogs (6 months to 6 years) – $425

      Puppies (under 6 months) – $475

      Senior Dogs (7 yrs and older) – $250

      Cats of All Ages – $175

      Pair of Cats or Kittens – $300

    What’s Included:

    • All pets are given age-appropriate vaccines and have been examined by a veterinarian.

    • All pets are given preventative medication for heartworm (dogs), fleas, ticks, and parasites and dogs over 6 months of age are tested for heartworm.

    • All pets are microchipped.

    • Every adoptable animal over 6 months of age has already been spayed or neutered, unless it is medically inadvisable to do so.*

    • All pets have been lovingly cared for in a foster home.

    • Each adoption comes with a two-week trial period. If you return the pet to PetConnect Rescue during that time, you will receive a refund of the adoption fee or we will work with you to find a better match.

    *An additional spay/neuter deposit for puppies ($250) and kittens ($125) will be required and that deposit will cover the cost of spay/neuter at a participating PetConnect veterinary partner. If the adopter wishes to use their own vet for spay/neuter, the deposit will be refunded once PetConnect receives proof of spay/neuter.

    We accept cash, check, or credit card payments for adoption fees. There will be a fee for returned checks. The fee is subject to change based on the current rate charged by our bank to process the return.
