Fred

Fred has definitely found his perfect, forever home!  From his family:  This is Fred the dog. He came with that name. Everyone who meets him says “of course his name is Fred”. And he’s the nicest, sweetest, coolest dog around. We weren’t in the market for a dog. Still heartbroken over the sudden loss of our rescued Ridgeback two years ago, we knew we eventually would get another dog. Just not yet. Besides, we have …two young children including a 4 year-old son with special needs and an intense fear of most dogs. So there we were on our way to a friend’s house for “dinner” one night. Not until we were settled in did we cotton on to the fact that our friend was fostering a gentle and adorable LabraBeagle/something or other. And this “dinner” was a blind date with Fred. Both our kids fell instantly in love with Fred. We all did. The very next day, Fred rescued us and came to live with us for good. And it has been very good ever since. The kids have a new best friend. Our son who hates dogs finds it calming to pet Fred. (We all do really). It’s like we have our very own full-time therapy dog. Fred is still the sweetest, gentlest, most adorable dog around. All the neighbors love him too. The local cats and squirrels know to stay off Fred’s lawn, but everyone else is always welcome.

So PetConnect Rescue, we can’t thank you enough for the great work you do! Fred has made our home a better place. And to our friend the foster parent, even though you’re a little sneaky, we are thrilled you had us over for “dinner”. Please keep doing what you do – there are lots of lonely families out there just waiting to be set up with their Fred.
