PetConnect Rescue believes in the importance of spaying and neutering animals to help curb the enormous problem of pet overpopulation. Below is a list of local facilities that provide low-cost spay/neuter services to the public. Please be sure to visit the websites of each clinic so that you are aware of the various requirements, steps and fees that may be involved in the process for each location. The League and 20 area veterinary clinics have created a reduced-cost spay/neuter program. To participate, pet owners should go to the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter, review the list of participating veterinary clinics and the costs associated with the surgery and then purchase a spay/neuter certificate from the League in advance of making the appointment for the pet’s surgery. No restrictions on income.

Certificates must be used by pet owners. This event is not open to feral cats or other rescue groups at this time.
They are unable to do spay/neuter for dogs over 60 pounds at this time. Please call to discuss other options.

Pet owners may purchase a certificate from Friends of Animals that can be used for a routine spay or neuter surgery at any of FoA’s participating veterinary hospitals. Spaying and Neutering Certificates may be purchased on-line. Or to order by mail call 1-800-321-PETS (1‐800‐321-7387) and request an application The recommended age for spay/neutering is 2‐6 months of age. Female animals should be spayed before their first heat (estrus cycle). They do not need to have a litter before spaying.
